Rural areas: CGEA’s President Neghza participates in ILO, IFAD dialogue on youth employment

ALGIERS- The President of the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises (CGEA), Saida Neghza, took part, on Wednesday, by videoconference, in the Regional Policy Dialogue on Youth Employment in the Rural Economy (PRO-AGRO Project), jointly organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), said a press release from the CGEA.

Ms. Neghza intervened in the workshop entitled: “Investing in decent jobs for young people in rural Africa”, along with the Minister of Labor of Malawi, the Minister of Agriculture of Madagascar, the representative of the Workers’ Organization from Côte d’Ivoire, the Director of the African Region at the International Labor Organization, the Assistant Director-General for Africa, and the Regional Director of the West and Central Africa Division at the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

Ms. Neghza’s participation focused “on the ways and means of strengthening partnerships between employers’ organizations and technical and vocational training establishments, in order to remedy the mismatches between the supply and demand for skills and on the levers available to the private sector to better play its role as job provider, especially for young people in rural areas”.

In her speech, the president of the CGEA seized the opportunity to highlight “Algeria’s economic orientation towards greater food self-sufficiency, support and aid granted by the State in order to develop agriculture, agri-food and the rural world”.

She also discussed the mechanisms put in place by the State to help young people set up their own businesses, in particular ANADE and ANGEM.

It should be recalled that Saïda Neghza, president of the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises (CGEA), has, once again, been listed by the famous economic and financial magazine “Forbes Afrique” among the 50 most influential businesswomen in Africa.

Ms. Neghza is considered, by this magazine, as one of the most eminent entrepreneurs from North Africa, being a wealth creator, job provider and a driver of the economic dynamism observed on the continent.

Ms. Neghza conducts intense economic diplomacy, in accordance with the Algerian State’s policy on foreign trade, cooperation and partnership, especially with the regional environment of which Algeria is a pivotal pole. Aware of Algeria’s pivotal political, economic and cultural role, Neghza has taken upon the responsibility of implementing President Tebboune’s guidance in this regard with all possible means with the aim to realize the aspirations of the state and serve the interests of the country. Her tours have culminated in the conclusion of many partnership agreements covering different spheres of life aimed at further enhancing the position of the Algerian economy.
