Russia Reaffirms Commitment to Strategic Partnership with Algeria

Algiers, Algeria – April 15, 2024 – Following his audience with President Tebboune on Monday, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov, reiterated Russia’s determination to further develop its strategic partnership with Algeria.
“I had the immense honor of meeting the President of the Republic, to whom I conveyed greetings from President Vladimir Putin,” stated Mr. Bogdanov, underscoring the high level of Algerian-Russian relations.
Highlighting the significance of President Tebboune’s official visit to the Russian Federation in June last year, during which the Declaration of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries was signed, the Russian Vice-Minister emphasized the importance of this milestone in strengthening bilateral ties.
Mr. Bogdanov also emphasized the “mutual respect” and “great political coordination” between Algeria and Russia, noting Algeria’s status as a “non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.” He underscored “the willingness of Russian leaders to continue developing this partnership.”
Describing his meeting with the President as “important” and “constructive,” the Russian official reaffirmed “the determination of both countries to work together to elevate their bilateral relations to higher levels.”
The strategic partnership between Algeria and Russia encompasses various sectors, including political coordination, economic cooperation, and cultural exchange. Over the years, both nations have worked closely to address regional and global challenges, demonstrating their shared commitment to peace, stability, and mutual prosperity.
