Russian President Putin Commends Algeria’s Balanced Foreign Policy

ALGIERS- Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed on Monday his country’s appreciation for Algeria’s balanced foreign policy, emphasizing the positive development of bilateral cooperation between the two nations. The remarks were made during the ceremony for presenting credentials by new ambassadors, including the Algerian ambassador to Moscow.
President Putin highlighted the expanding human relations between Russia and Algeria, expressing the intention to strengthen coordination with Algeria on current international and regional issues. He stated, “We appreciate the balanced process of the foreign policy of Algerian leaders, especially as Algeria will hold a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2024-2025 period. Naturally, we will enhance coordination with our Algerian partners regarding current issues on the international and regional scenes.”
Addressing economic cooperation, Putin noted the positive pace of Russo-Algerian trade and economic partnership, with the trade volume between the two countries exceeding $2 billion. This statement underscores the commitment to fostering economic ties for mutual benefit.
