His career trajectory includes commanding a tank battalion, leading an armored brigade, and directing the School of Armored Warfare in the Fifth Military Region. He steadily rose through the ranks to become Commander of the Ground Forces and, subsequently, Chief of Staff of the ANP. His pivotal role in counterterrorism operations during Algeria’s “Black Decade,” particularly in western Algeria, has been widely recognized for its effectiveness and strategic impact.
