ALGIERS- At the inauguration ceremony of the 8th Edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX-2024), General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army (ANP), participated under the supervision of Qatar’s Vice Emir, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Thani.
Following the ceremony, the Algerian delegation led by General Chanegriha toured the exhibition, stopping at various stands to inspect the displayed equipment and engage with the exhibitors, as reported by the Ministry of National Defense.
At the Qatari pavilion, General Chanegriha inquired about the showcased weaponry, high-tech weapon systems, and received detailed explanations and presentations from the pavilion’s officials.
Later, General Chanegriha held discussions with General Salem Ben Hamed Al-Nabit, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, where they discussed the state of military cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance it to match the excellent relations between Algeria and Qatar, in line with the aspirations of the leaders of both nations.
In his speech, General Chanegriha expressed gratitude for the invitation to attend the global event and for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the Algerian delegation. He emphasized that Algeria considers Qatar a brotherly country and a reliable partner, stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields and maintaining continuous coordination.
This visit marks General Chanegriha’s second to Qatar after 2022, providing a new opportunity to work together to achieve the aspirations of both countries and enhance multidimensional military cooperation, particularly in exchanging experiences and professional practices in security and defense.
General Chanegriha concluded by affirming the ANP’s readiness to advance alongside the Qatari Armed Forces in strengthening cooperation, within the framework of the multidimensional convergence between the two nations.
General Salem Ben Hamed Al-Nabit praised the level of bilateral military cooperation between the two brotherly countries, expressing gratitude to General Chanegriha for accepting the invitation.
