ALGIERS- The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments called on imams to perform, next Saturday, Salatul-Istisqa ‘rain-seeking’ prayer across all mosques in the country, according to a ministry statement.
The same source explained that Salatul-Istisqa ‘rain-seeking’ prayer will be held next Saturday, across all the mosques of the country, starting at nine (09:00 a.m.), in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet, may Allah’s peace be upon him, who performed the rain prayer in times of drought.
The ministry reminded people of “the provisions and etiquette” of rain prayers, such as; repentance, seeking forgiveness, responding to grievances, maintaining ties of kinship, and fasting before performing this prayer, in addition to giving alms to the poor and needy to spread mercy and social solidarity among people,” the statement explained.
