ALGIERS- The Salima Souakri Foundation celebrated its first anniversary in Algiers on Saturday. A year filled with impactful initiatives, stimulating projects, meaningful encounters, and profound humanity was marked by the unwavering commitment of generous donors and volunteers.

The steadfast support allowed the foundation to thrive and achieve its objectives, showcasing the perseverance and continued involvement of its partners. The celebration was accompanied by the signing of two significant agreements. The first involves a partnership between the Salima Souakri Foundation and the Clinique du Val Group, renowned for its expertise in surgical diagnosis, childbirth, and ophthalmology. The second agreement sealed a fruitful collaboration with the Bioval laboratory.

These partnerships represent a crucial opportunity to provide free and comprehensive care to the foundation’s beneficiaries. Salima Souakri, the foundation’s president, stated, “We have great ambitions for the year 2024. The first is realized today by signing an agreement with the Clinique du Val Group and the Bioval laboratory, committing to providing free care to the foundation’s beneficiaries. We aim to mobilize more youth and instill the spirit of solidarity and mutual aid throughout the country.”

Expressing gratitude to contributors, Souakri emphasized, “I have always worked in the humanitarian field voluntarily, collaborating with several associations. In 2023, I decided to materialize this commitment by creating my own foundation, putting my reputation in the service of the most underprivileged.” She also reflected on the foundation’s beginnings, stating, “Our foundation’s first action was the Southern Caravan, launched successfully through the call I made on my social networks, mobilizing a generous community. We were able to reach many families in need, and our commitment was materialized, notably by building a house for a deprived family in Timekten, a small village located 100 km from Reggane in Adrar. This project fills me with satisfaction.”

The Salima Souakri Foundation continues to implement its vision for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and community engagement in achieving its noble aspirations.
