Constantine, Algeria – April 15, 2024- In a historic ceremony held in Constantine, representatives from the Deanship of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr witnessed the symbolic transfer of Sheikh Abdelhamid Ben Badis Library. Occurring on Shawwal 6, 1445 AH, corresponding to April 15, 2024 AD, this event stands as a pivotal moment in Algerian history and cultural heritage.

Amidst the presence of local dignitaries, including Governor Abdelkhalek Sayouda, the library was formally relocated from the late Abdelhak Ben Badis’ residence to the nearby Abdelhamid Ben Badis Foundation. This act symbolized a profound transition in the preservation and dissemination of knowledge.

During the ceremonial proceedings, it was announced that the Sheikh Ibn Badis Library would find its new home within the walls of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, where it would serve as an enduring endowment for generations to come.

Significantly, this occasion coincided with the commemoration of Science Day, overseen by esteemed figures such as the Minister of State, Djamaâ El-Djazaïr’s Dean, and the revered Sheikh of the Zaouia d’El Hamel, Mohamed Mamoun El Kacimi El Hassani. The convergence of these events underscored the inseparable link between intellectual pursuit, spiritual enlightenment, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

As a gesture of reverence and solidarity, Mohamed Mamoun El Kacimi El Hassani journeyed to Constantine to participate in the festivities. He was warmly received by the province’s governor, Abdelkhalek Sayouda.
