Sheikh Mohamed Salah Aït Aldjet passes away: Minister of Religious Affairs presents condolences

ALGIERS– The son of the scholar Mohamed Tahar Aït Aldjet, Sheikh Mohamed Salah Aït Aldjet, died on Monday at the age of 82, reported APS, citing relatives of the deceased.
Born in 1941 in Tamokra in the wilaya of Bejaïa where he was sheikh of his zaouia, the deceased had learned the Holy Quran at a young age from his grandfather, Sheikh Mokrane, before joining the zaouia of Sidi Saïd in 1948.
Sheikh Mohamed Salah had completed the memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran and studied Arabic language and literature as well as jurisprudence (Fiq’h) and several sciences in the Zaouia before being sent to Tunisia during the national liberation war to continue his studies with the student missions.
After independence, he obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Algiers, specializing in Arabic language and Islamic civilization. He has, to his credit, several works, such as; “Cheikh El Mouloud El Hafidi: Life and Work” and “Voyage of a Century in the Life of the Scholar Sheikh Mohamed Tahar Aït Aldjet”.
In this painful circumstance, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi, presented to the scholar Sheikh Mohamed Tahar Aït Aldjet and his family his sincere condolences and deep compassion, praying to Allah, Almighty, to surround the deceased with His holy mercy, to welcome him into his vast paradise, and assist his loved ones.
