Sierra Leonean President Pays Homage to Martyrs during Official Visit to Algeria

Algiers, January 3, 2024 – President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone, on a three-day official visit to Algeria, solemnly paid tribute on Wednesday at the Martyrs’ Sanctuary in Algiers. The ceremony aimed to honor the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Algerian War of National Liberation.
Accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, President Maada Bio participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the sanctuary, a symbolic gesture underscoring the shared history of struggle for independence and the importance of honoring those who gave their lives for freedom.
