Six start-ups present their projects to private investors

Six start-ups from different regions of Algeria presented their projects in Algiers on Wednesday in front of private investors with the aim of convincing them to finance the development of their businesses.

These start-ups made their presentations during an event held at the headquarters of the Algerian startup fund (ASF), the public fund for financing start-ups, in the presence of the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of Knowledge Economy and Start-ups, Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid, and organized by Casbah business angels (CBA), a group of Algerian investors based in Algeria and abroad.

Private investors followed the presentations of the start-ups “Youchoze”, a platform that offers home repair and fitting out services, “Bricoula”, a range of home service solutions for all types of work and maintenance or “RestOne”, a catering and hotel management platform.

They also followed the “pitch” (presentation) of “Antigaspi”, a mobile application which offers foodstuffs arriving at their consumption deadlines, of “Dash-BI”, an analytical portal at the service of all SMEs and “Medatic”, a provider of innovative solutions for patient health and safety.

During his opening speech, Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid indicated that his department’s role is to support the environment for start-ups in Algeria, which “necessarily” involves the diversification of means of financing, with the creation, in particular of ASF, which offers a new method of financing start-ups based on venture capital.

The Minister felt that the private sector should also have an “important” role in the financing of start-ups, as is the case everywhere around the world, the reason why his department supports CBA to enable start-ups from different regions of Algeria to benefit from financing from private investors, with mechanisms adapted to this type of project, he underlined.
