ALGIERS- Sofcontra, headquartered in Tlemcen, is one of the leading Algerian companies in the field of manufacturing marble slabs, floor tiles, granite, and artificial quartz stone with customized dimensions, according to a communiqué issued by the company.
Established in 2000, the company focuses exclusively on high-quality and cost-effective product development and the provision of advanced services and edge-cutting technologies based on Breton Terastone system. It is advancing at a steady pace with the involvement of its skilled and experienced staff. Accordingly, a few years after its entry into production, sofcontra was able to cover the national market’s needs with acceptable spread rates, as it operates throughout Algeria and is present in 34 provinces, including four in the great south, such as Bechar and Adrar.
With a strong belief in collective responsibility and leadership, professionalism and ethics, and the introduction of added value, the company includes up to 120 Algerian professionals with vivid experience in both the technical and functional fields, set together under one roof with the objective of providing high-quality products. It constantly strives to be a leading technology firm with profound business and functional knowledge.
According to the same press release, the key to the company’ success is the maintenance of a close working relationship with its customers, ensuring practical and innovative solutions for them.
With the high demand in the local market for various building materials during the last decade, the company’s managers set out, in 2018, to establish a new production unit in the wilaya of Ain Temouchent specializing in the manufacture of industrial “quartz” slabs. This new factory, which included a qualified workforce, managed, after one year of its entry into production, to export 80 % of its products worldwide.
Similarly, Sofcontra proved itself domestically with a production capacity exceeding 200,000 square meters of marble and granite, in addition to producing 230,000 to 250,000 square meters of quartz stone annually, which enabled it, in 2019, to penetrate the international market by exporting its 100% Algerian products to industrialized countries with strong economies.
Today, the company markets its products in the United States of America, Canada, Australia, Qatar, and Tunisia. In addition, it has many orders in Europe and Asia.
In conclusion, the company plays a crucial role in supporting the economic development of Algeria and promoting sustainable development.
