Algiers, Algeria | September 19th, 2024 — The Algerian Bus Station Operating Company (Sogral) has introduced a suite of new digital services aimed at boosting passenger transport efficiency and convenience in anticipation of the upcoming school year and social season.

Commencing on September 22, 2024, Sogral will implement a series of enhancements to its transport services in alignment with directives from the Minister of Transport. These improvements include ramping up services on high-demand routes to accommodate families returning to urban areas, with a particular emphasis on key stations in Tlemcen, Annaba, Béjaia, Sétif, Ouargla, Algiers, Béchar, and Constantine. Additionally, new routes will be launched at various bus stations, especially in southern regions, to address the growing demand.

A central feature of this digital transformation is the launch of the “Mahatati” application. This innovative service allows passengers to track buses in real-time, offering a new level of convenience and efficiency. The “Mahatati” app includes functionalities such as real-time bus arrival notifications, trip schedules, online reservations, and a system for reporting service issues.

The app, which has already achieved one million downloads, is expected to greatly enhance the travel experience for students and other passengers. The real-time notification feature alerts users just minutes before their bus arrives, aiming to provide a more seamless and stress-free travel experience.

In addition to the digital advancements, Sogral has designated specific bus platforms for university students and is deploying all available resources to ensure a smooth start to the new school year. These initiatives underscore Sogral’s commitment to improving public transportation and meeting the needs of its passengers during this peak period.
