Sonatrach Announces Winners of National Competition for Best Scientific Publication in Algeria

ALGIERS- In celebration of its sixtieth anniversary, Sonatrach, the Algerian national oil company, unveiled the results of the National Competition for the Best Scientific Publication in Algeria (Grade A+) on Monday. The competition, organized in partnership with the National Council for Scientific Research and Technologies, aimed to encourage scientific talents and reward excellence in scientific research.
According to a statement from Sonatrach, the competition targeted resident researchers in Algeria, seeking to reward excellence in scientific research. This initiative is part of a strategic approach to create hubs for wealth generation by establishing mechanisms for collaboration and coordination with the sectors of scientific research, technological development, and the economy.
Publications from Grade A+ are indexed scientific articles in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science network (with an impact factor), ranking within the top 5 microfields.
The competition witnessed significant participation from 594 researchers, for whom Sonatrach allocated substantial cash prizes to reward those with the best scientific publications in the fields of energy security, food security, and health security over the past five years.
A committee, comprising researchers from Sonatrach, the National Council for Scientific Research and Technologies, and the National Health Security Agency, evaluated the submissions. After deliberations, they identified six winners.
Sonatrach expressed gratitude to all participating researchers, wishing the winners success in their future research projects. The company reaffirmed its commitment to showcasing young talents in Algeria and honoring excellence within the national scientific community.
