ALGIERS- During a two-day visit to various Sonatrach facilities, the CEO of the national oil company, Rachid Hachichi, has given directives to initiate the second phase of the development program for the Bir Sbâa complex in the Touggourt province.
According to Sonatrach’s statement, this complex, operated by the national oil company in partnership with the Thai company PTTEP and the Vietnamese company PVEP, is already producing 20,000 barrels of crude oil per day and one million cubic meters of associated gas.
During his visit, Hachichi underscored the importance of monitoring the production capacity of the complex and instructed the commencement of the second phase of its development program.
The Sonatrach CEO also directed efforts to ensure the integrated operation of the Touggourt field facilities to reduce production costs.
As part of his visit, Hachichi inspected the Rama 2 production plant located in Touggourt.
Hachichi specifically examined the primary separation production facility at Rama 2, which has recently been reinforced with a second production line.
This facility is recognized as one of the most significant development projects of the Regional Production Directorate in Hassi Messaoud, aiming to exploit the deposits in these regions.
The project relies on a collection network to transport the resources to the primary separation units Rama 1 and 2, and then channeling them through pipelines to the installations in Hassi Messaoud, where the final separation process takes place.
Sonatrach specifies that the processing capacity of the Rama 2 primary separation facility is estimated at 80 thousand barrels per day.
