Sonatrach CEO Rachid Hachichi Installs Eight Key Executives to Lead Strategic Business Units

ALGIERS- In a significant organizational shift, Rachid Hachichi, the CEO of the state-owned energy company Sonatrach, officially installed eight new vice presidents in a ceremony held in Algiers on Tuesday. This move follows the recent dismissal of previous officials in a restructuring initiative initiated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement from the company.

The newly appointed vice presidents are set to take charge of various strategic business units within Sonatrach, contributing to the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and adapt to evolving industry dynamics.

Mr. Djettou Farid assumes the role of Vice President for Exploration and Production, bringing his expertise to drive advancements in this critical sector. Meanwhile, Mr. Malki Youcef steps into the position of Vice President overseeing Pipeline Transport, responsible for managing the intricate network of pipelines integral to Sonatrach’s operations.

The domain of Liquefaction and Separation sees the leadership of Mr. Amara Youcef as Vice President, overseeing processes crucial to the company’s gas-related activities. Simultaneously, Mr. Slimani Slimane takes on the role of Vice President for Refining and Petrochemicals, spearheading developments in these pivotal areas of the energy industry.

In the realm of commercialization, Mr. Mayouf Belkacem assumes the position of Vice President, tasked with overseeing Sonatrach’s activities in marketing and sales. Mr. Attalah Djamel brings his financial acumen to the role of Vice President in charge of Finances, ensuring sound fiscal management for the company.

Strategic planning and economic initiatives fall under the purview of Mr. Laraba Fayçal, who assumes the role of Vice President for Strategy, Planning, and Economics. Lastly, Mr. Ounoughi Ferhat takes on the responsibilities of Vice President for Business, Development, and Marketing, contributing to Sonatrach’s business expansion strategies.
