ALGIERS- In a statement released on its website this Monday, the state-owned oil company Sonatrach announced the signing of a partnership agreement with the Saudi oil group Midad Energy North Africa (MENA).
According to the statement, this memorandum of understanding reflects the willingness of both parties to establish a partnership for the evaluation and fast-track development of gas fields located in the southern Illizi region.
“The signing ceremony was attended by Sonatrach CEO Mr. Rachid Hachichi, MENA CEO Sheikh Abdulelah Bin Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Aiban, and the President of the National Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources Valorization (ALNAFT), Mourad Beldjahem. On the sidelines of this ceremony, the two parties discussed cooperation prospects, particularly in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons and other segments of the Oil & Gas value chain,” the statement added.
