Sonatrach Ready to Export Desalination Expertise, President Tebboune Launches Projects

ALGIERS- The CEO of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, announced on Tuesday evening that the group is prepared to export its expertise in seawater desalination.
During a visit to the Cap Blanc seawater desalination plant project in the West of Oran, Mr. Hachichi emphasized that “Sonatrach has gained sufficient experience in seawater desalination and has the expertise in the construction and management of these plants.”
He stated that Sonatrach is currently present in various parts of the world and is capable of taking on projects for the construction and operation of seawater desalination plants wherever opportunities arise.
Regarding the Cap Blanc station, the CEO of Sonatrach expressed great satisfaction with the progress of the work, especially since the project is being entirely carried out by Algerian professionals. He noted that the project will now enter the stage of equipment installation.
Mr. Hachichi clarified that the construction and management are handled by Algerians, while the equipment is imported. He added that the integration rate for the equipment would be a gradual process.
