Algiers, April 25, 2024 – Sonatrach announced today the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with OQ Exploration & Production, a subsidiary of OQ Global Integrated Energy Company based in the Sultanate of Oman.*
The MoU aims to initiate discussions between Sonatrach and OQ Exploration & Production on opportunities for cooperation in hydrocarbon exploration and production activities, as stated in the press release.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Sonatrach’s CEO, Mr. Rachid Hachichi, and OQ Exploration & Production’s Executive Director, Mr. Ahmed Al-Azkawi.
Mr. Hachichi emphasized, “The signing of this agreement confirms Sonatrach’s ambitions to develop international cooperation in the Oil & Gas sector and the renewable energy sector, as well as to further strengthen partnerships with Omani companies through the mutual exchange of experiences and expertise.”
The agreement signifies a strategic move by Sonatrach to expand its international partnerships and leverage the expertise of OQ Exploration & Production in the oil and gas sector. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to explore new opportunities for joint ventures and projects in hydrocarbon exploration and production.
