Algiers- Algeria, May 15, 2024 – Sonatrach, Algeria’s state-owned oil and gas company, has taken a significant stride towards bolstering emergency medical services by entering into a financing agreement to outfit three Civil Protection helicopters with advanced medical equipment. The agreement, signed on Wednesday, involved Sonatrach CEO, Mr. Rachid Hachichi, and the Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Bourelaf.
The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance the capabilities of the Civil Protection’s medical teams during emergency situations, particularly by enabling safe and efficient aeromedical evacuations. The advanced medical equipment provided by Sonatrach will play a crucial role in ensuring swift and effective medical assistance, especially in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
This financing agreement underscores Sonatrach’s commitment to supporting national healthcare efforts, particularly in times of crises and emergencies. By equipping helicopters with cutting-edge medical gear, Sonatrach aims to significantly enhance the effectiveness of the Civil Protection’s emergency response operations across Algeria.
