Algiers, Algeria | October 1st, 2024 — On Monday, Mourad Adjal, President and CEO of Sonelgaz, engaged in a productive meeting with a delegation from Elsewedy Electric Algeria, led by CEO Mostafa Elhalwani, to explore potential partnership opportunities and collaborative projects. The discussions took place at Sonelgaz’s headquarters and included several senior executives from both companies.
During the meeting, Elhalwani expressed his appreciation for the support Sonelgaz has extended to Elsewedy Electric, emphasizing that this collaboration has been instrumental in the company’s success, both in Algeria and internationally. He detailed the company’s new strategic directions, particularly focusing on a major project planned for Algeria that will necessitate Sonelgaz’s assistance in terms of energy supply. This initiative is anticipated to be pivotal in generating new job opportunities and enhancing Algeria’s export capacity.
Adjal acknowledged the impressive performance of Elsewedy Electric Algeria and commended the company for its adherence to commitments made to Sonelgaz, especially regarding the supply of cables and electrical equipment. He stressed the urgent need to implement a new action plan swiftly to meet recent orders, which are critical for preparations ahead of the summer season in 2025. He noted that addressing these priorities is essential for the ongoing cooperation between the two entities.
Furthermore, Adjal proposed the enhancement of the partnership through Sonelgaz’s industrial arm, the Algerian Electricity and Gas Industries Company (SAIEG). This collaboration is expected to create new export opportunities for SAIEG products, strengthening the overall partnership.
To ensure effective progress, both parties agreed to establish a technical working team tasked with addressing all points discussed and expediting project implementation. This initiative marks a significant step toward deeper cooperation between Sonelgaz and Elsewedy Electric Algeria, reinforcing their commitment to mutual growth and the advancement of Algeria’s energy sector.
