ALGIERS- The President and CEO of Sonelgaz Group, Mourad Adjal, announced preparations for the launch of a national and international tender within the next two years.
The tender is for the realization of 3,000 megawatts of solar energy. “Sonelgaz will launch, between 2025 and 2026, a national and international tender for the realization of 3,000 megawatts of solar energy,” stated Mourad Adjal on Monday during his working visit to the Mascara province.
“All projects for the construction of photovoltaic power plants, for the production of solar energy, concern all provinces, with the first phase aiming for a production of 2,000 megawatts and the second, 1,000 megawatts,” explained the top executive of Sonelgaz.
In another context, Mourad Adjal urged citizens to shift towards purchasing electric vehicles, reminding that the state has installed numerous electric charging stations. As an example, the Mascara province now benefits from “12 charging stations for electric cars, of which 4 are already operational.”
On another note, Mourad Adjal revealed that “so far, no less than 68 industrial zones, out of 116 distributed across the country, have been connected to the electricity and gas networks, in addition to the connection of 38 industrial zones out of 49.”
Furthermore, “54,000 agricultural farms, spread across the national territory, have been connected to the electricity and gas networks.”
