ALGIERS- The South African government made the decision, on Monday, to recall its diplomats stationed in the Zionist entity for consultations, as announced by Minister at the Presidency, Ms. Khumbudzo Ntshaveni.

During a press briefing, she stated, “The South African government has decided to withdraw all its diplomats for consultations.”

The South African official emphasized Pretoria’s disappointment in the face of the continued bombing of schools and clinics in the Gaza Strip.

Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor expressed deep concern over the ongoing killings of children and civilians. “This is a normal practice when a situation is extremely harmful and worrying,” she explained. “The diplomats will provide a comprehensive briefing on the situation to the government, which will then determine whether assistance can be provided or if the current relationship can be maintained.”

“We are profoundly concerned about the continued loss of innocent lives in the Palestinian territories, particularly among children. We believe that ‘Israel”s response has escalated into collective punishment,” Pandor stated. “By recalling our diplomats, we aim to signal South Africa’s concern while continuing to advocate for a comprehensive cessation of hostilities.”
