Speaker Goudjil Hosts Delegation from the Algerian Association of Former Parliamentarians

Algiers, Algeria | November 29th, 2024 — In a significant move aimed at preserving Algeria’s parliamentary history and enhancing national memory, Salah Goudjil, Speaker of the Council of the Nation, received on Thursday a delegation from the Algerian Association of Former Parliamentarians. The delegation, led by its president, Abdelkrim Abidat, outlined the association’s objectives and structure during a formal meeting at the upper chamber of Parliament.

According to a statement released by the Council, Abdelkrim Abidat provided an overview of the association’s internal regulations, its mission, and the criteria for membership. Highlighting its foundational principles, Abidat emphasized the association’s commitment to fostering collaboration between former parliamentarians and contributing to Algeria’s legislative and political evolution.

Welcoming the delegation, Salah Goudjil expressed his appreciation and extended his best wishes for the association’s success. “The association holds a pivotal role in preserving the legacy of Algeria’s parliamentary history and bridging the gap between past and present legislative bodies,” Goudjil remarked.

The Algerian Association of Former Parliamentarians was officially established under Law No. 12-06 of January 12, 2012, concerning associations. It aims to leverage the wealth of experience of former legislators to support national development and contribute to legislative processes.
