Special Adviser to King Mohammed VI André Azoulay Decorated by Zionist President: Controversy Surrounds Recognition!

ALGIERS- In a move that has ignited a firestorm of controversy, André Azoulay, special adviser to King Mohammed VI of Morocco, has been decorated with the presidential medal of honor by the President of the Zionist entity, Isaac Herzog. This recognition has further exposed the perceived subservience of Rabat to Tel Aviv and has sparked intense debates regarding the underlying motives behind this gesture.
André Azoulay, a prominent figure within the Makhzen and of Jewish origin himself, has long been seen as a key influencer within Moroccan decision-making circles. Critics argue that his alleged role in the deepening ties between the two countries signifies a worrying trend of vassalization and adherence to shared policies of apartheid in occupied territories, such as Palestine and Western Sahara.
The Moroccan press, on its part, has praised the “betrayal bounty”, emphasizing the similarities between the colonial regimes of Rabat and Tel Aviv. Portraying Azoulay as a champion of peace and advocate for a two-state solution in Palestine is simply a distortion of reality.
It is important to note that Morocco’s historical involvement in the Arab-Zionist conflict has been a contentious issue. Even as far back as 1967, during the “six-day war,” reports asserted that Morocco’s then-ruler, Hassan II, had betrayed Palestine and the Arab coalition. Against this backdrop, critics argue that the recognition of Azoulay only serves to deepen suspicions and raise questions about the underlying motives behind Morocco’ stance on regional conflicts.
Some observers speculate that the Zionist entity’s acknowledgment of Azoulay could be a precursor to Tel Aviv aligning itself with Morocco’s proposed autonomy plan for Western Sahara. However, the Moroccan press has sought to counter this narrative by portraying Azoulay as a champion of the Palestinian cause!!!
