ALGIERS- In his capacity as special envoy of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, has been on a working visit to Venezuela since Monday, February 19th, where he was received by President Nicolas Maduro. The minister conveyed President Tebboune’s greetings to President Maduro and delivered a written message on his behalf.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, particularly in the energy sector. Mohamed Arkab outlined the arrangements made by Algeria and the ongoing preparations for the seventh summit of heads of state and government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, scheduled from February 29th to March 2nd in Algiers, to which President Maduro is invited to participate.
“The minister affirmed President Tebboune’s desire to see the effective participation of the Republic of Venezuela in this summit and its contribution to supporting and deepening the values of solidarity among the Forum member countries, with the aim of enhancing dialogue, intensifying consultations, and advancing the development of its gas resources and the gas industry in general,” stated the ministry’s press release.
The minister also expressed his willingness to enhance the historical relations between the two countries in all fields and to continue coordinating and consulting on regional and international issues of common interest.
President Nicolas Maduro instructed the minister to convey his fraternal greetings to President Tebboune, emphasizing his country’s determination to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the gas industry, training, and the exchange of experiences and expertise between the two countries’ enterprises.
