ALGIERS– Algeria, known for its rich cultural heritage and sporting excellence, has once again taken the spotlight as it hosts the 15th edition of the Arab Sports Games. The opening ceremony, held at Algiers’ iconic July 5 stadium, dazzled spectators with a fusion of sports, culture, and art, showcasing the nation’s commitment to unity and the celebration of Arab heritage.
Esteemed officials, including Algerian Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees, and Algerian Minister of Sports Abderrahmane Hammad, among others, graced the event. Their presence emphasized the significance of the Arab Sports Games in bringing Arab nations together.
Algeria has proven itself to be an exceptional host for major sporting events in recent times. With successful ventures such as the Mediterranean Games in Oran last year, the African Championship for local players (CHAN 2022), and the African Cup of Nations for juniors in April, Algeria has garnered acclaim for its outstanding organizational capabilities and world-class sports infrastructure.

Besides, a historic moment unfolded as the official anthem of the Arab Sports Games resonated for the first time in the event’s history, accompanied by a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the crowd to the participating Arab delegations. His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal delivered an inspiring speech, setting the tone for the proceedings alongside the Algerian Minister of Sports. Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane then officially declared the championship open, igniting a surge of anticipation and excitement throughout the stadium.
