State of the Nation Address: President Tebboune Affirms Unwavering Support for Palestine

ALGIERS- In a compelling address to the nation on Thursday before a joint session of Parliament at the Palace of Nations, President Tebboune naturally turned his attention to the tragic situation in Palestine, with a particular focus on the besieged Gaza Strip enduring relentless bombardments by the occupying Zionist forces for the past 80 days.
“What is happening today is a stain on the history of humanity,” he exclaimed. Over 20,000 civilians, predominantly children and women, have lost their lives in the Palestinian enclave. Hospitals, schools, residences—entire communities—have been reduced to rubble. Humanitarian organizations, UN personnel, doctors, journalists, and writers have become targets of the Zionist entity’s military actions, supported by its Western allies. Algeria stands out as an exception, unwavering in its commitment to the oppressed Palestinian people and their rightful claim to their land.
“We will not waver in our defense of the Palestinian cause,” reiterated the President today. He also reaffirmed Algeria’s steadfast support for the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, emphasizing that it is a matter of decolonization.
President Tebboune’s resolute stance underscores Algeria’s principled commitment to justice and human rights on the international stage. The country remains steadfast in its refusal to compromise on supporting the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom, justice, and the restoration of their occupied lands.
