Steel products: Algerian Qatari Steel group exports 320,000 tons in first quarter of 2023

ALGIERS- The Algerian Qatari Steel (AQS) steel group in Bellara (Jijel), exported 320,000 tons of steel products during the first quarter of 2023, compared to 100,000 tons of exports during the same period last year (2022), said Wednesday, the company’s deputy general manager, Mr. Sofiane Chaib Setti, in a statement to APS.

He indicated that the Algerian-Qatari company recorded, during the first three months of the current year 2023, the export of a “significant” quantity of iron and its derivatives, estimated at 320,000 tons, i.e. the equivalent of $200 million.

In 2022, the company’s exports were at 240,000 tons, for an estimated financial value of 160 million dollars, according to the same official.
