Strengthening Algeria-Eswatini Ties: Special Envoy Mohamed Meziane Meets Eswatini’s Prime Minister Russell Dlamini

Algiers, Algeria | January 21st, 2025 —  In a significant diplomatic move, Mohamed Meziane, special envoy of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, was warmly received by Eswatini’s Prime Minister, Russell Dlamini, in Mbabane on January 21, 2025. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Pholile Shakantu, Eswatini’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, marking the beginning of high-level discussions aimed at reinforcing the longstanding ties between the two nations.

During the visit, Meziane handed over a letter from President Tebboune addressed to His Majesty King Mswati III. In his letter, President Tebboune extended heartfelt greetings and emphasized his commitment to further strengthening the fraternal bonds between Algeria and Eswatini. The letter conveyed the desire to elevate the bilateral relationship to new heights for the mutual benefit of both countries, underscoring the importance of cooperation in various sectors.

Bilateral Cooperation and Shared African Priorities

The meeting provided a platform for a comprehensive exchange of views on enhancing the bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Eswatini. Both parties explored ways to further promote collaboration in key areas such as trade, development, and cultural exchange. The two sides emphasized the need to deepen ties and unlock new opportunities that would benefit both nations and contribute to their shared progress.

Additionally, the talks extended to broader regional issues, with a particular focus on the critical agenda items currently under discussion at the African Union (AU).
