Strengthening Bilateral Relations: Algerian FM Attaf Meets President of Congo’s National Assembly

Algiers- Algeria, May 6, 2024 – Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, hosted a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Congo, Isidore Mvouba, at the ministry’s headquarters on Monday.
The meeting served as an opportunity to “assess the status of the fraternal relations and cooperation between Algeria and the Republic of Congo, and explore avenues for further development, especially through the implementation of parliamentary diplomacy, which plays a crucial role in strengthening ties and alignment between the two nations,” the statement elaborated.
Both parties recognized “the unique nature of these relations, deeply rooted in the historical ties between the two countries, which receive special attention from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria and President Denis Sassou Nguesso of Congo.”
The statement also underscored “the shared commitment of the leaders of both countries to the African continent, and their ongoing efforts to actively and effectively contribute to mobilizing the necessary support to address the challenges facing African nations and their people across all sectors and levels.”
