Strengthening Bilateral Ties: Algerian Assembly Speaker Boughali Engages in Productive Talks with Iranian President Raïssi in Tehran

TEHRAN, August 23, 2023— The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (PNA) of Algeria, Mr. Brahim Boughali, embarked on a pivotal visit to Tehran, where he was warmly received by Iranian President Mr. Ebrahim Raïssi. The meeting served as a platform to reaffirm the robust relationship between the two nations and underscored the commitment to enhancing parliamentary collaboration and economic partnerships.
In an official statement released by the Algerian lower house of parliament, it was revealed that Mr. Boughali conveyed the cordial greetings of Algerian President Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Raïssi. The visit was marked by an atmosphere of mutual respect and camaraderie, underscoring the enduring fraternal ties between the Algerian and Iranian peoples.
President Raïssi eloquently emphasized “the significance of fostering parliamentary cooperation” as a pillar of support for the bilateral relationship, particularly in the realm of economic engagement. The two leaders shared a vision of translating their countries’ harmonious political relations into concrete economic measures.
The Iranian President ardently expressed his aspiration for both nations to take tangible steps in the economic arena that mirror the depth of their diplomatic connection. Accompanied by a distinguished delegation, including deputies Riad Khellaf and Lies Gemgami, as well as the head of external relations at the PNA, the Algerian ambassador in Tehran, Ali Aroudj, was also present at this crucial exchange.
