Algiers, December 20, 2023- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune welcomed the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Retno Marsudi, in a meeting held on Wednesday, as per a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
Following the meeting, Mrs. Retno Marsudi emphasized the robust political relations between Indonesia and Algeria, stating that the focus now is on enhancing bilateral economic, trade, and energy cooperation.

“We are working to strengthen our bilateral relations, particularly in the economic domain. I informed President Tebboune that our political relations are already very strong, and it is incumbent upon us to reinforce our economic cooperation, including trade exchanges and energy collaboration, to elevate the level of our bilateral relations,” said the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In addition to economic collaboration, Mrs. Retno Marsudi discussed with President Tebboune the ways in which both countries can collectively advocate for just and humanitarian causes, with a particular emphasis on the Palestinian cause.
The meeting, attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, and the Acting Director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Boualem Boualem, underscores the commitment of both nations to fostering stronger ties and collaboration in various fields.
