Strengthening Bilateral Ties: Mauritanian National Assembly Speaker’s Official Visit to Algeria

ALGIERS- In response to an invitation extended by the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, Mohamed Ould Meguett, Speaker of the National Assembly of Mauritania, is set to embark on an official visit to Algeria starting this Friday, with the visit scheduled until Monday, January 22.

This diplomatic mission is strategically designed to fortify the longstanding and robust relations between Algeria and Mauritania. The visit aims to explore opportunities for enhancing and revitalizing cooperation across various sectors, reinforcing the historical ties that have bound the two nations for decades.

During his stay in Algeria, Speaker Mohamed Ould Meguett is scheduled to engage in high-level discussions with the leaders of both chambers of the Algerian Parliament, Speaker Brahim Boughali, and Senate Speaker Salah Goudjil. Additionally, he will hold meetings with other key government officials, paving the way for comprehensive talks on mutual interests, collaboration, and diplomatic endeavors.

The agenda of the visit includes deliberations on potential avenues to elevate the existing cooperative frameworks between Algeria and Mauritania. This visit is not only symbolic in its reinforcement of diplomatic ties but also signifies a commitment to fostering a new era of collaboration that aligns with the contemporary needs and aspirations of both nations.
