ALGIERS- The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized a ceremony on Tuesday in Algiers for the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA). Through this initiative, both parties commit to working together to promote innovation, research, and development within Algerian economic enterprises.
Speaking at the ceremony, attended by ministry officials, academics, and research center leaders, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, explained that the agreement includes providing CREA with all the resources available in Algerian universities to “strengthen the innovation and creativity of Algerian economic enterprises.” He also emphasized the importance of leveraging the latest technologies developed by Algerian academics for the benefit of the country and its citizens.
Baddari highlighted the CREA as a symbol of the New Algeria driven by economic enterprises and guided by the directions and commitments of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He emphasized the role of Algerian universities as a source of human resources to be made available to economic actors, with a focus on meeting the needs of the country’s economic enterprises to stimulate growth and promote social progress.
President of the CREA, Kamel Moula, noted that the organization, which includes public and private enterprises as well as startups, is fully committed to the country’s economic renewal process. He emphasized that the pooling of skills and resources is a significant asset to achieve the objective of sustainable economic recovery benefiting all.
Moula stressed that the agreement will not remain a theoretical accord but will be implemented on the ground, fostering closer collaboration between two different yet complementary worlds. He underlined the importance of bridging any gap between academia and the business world, urging Algerian universities to meet the demand for innovation and creativity from economic enterprises while also calling for financial support from these enterprises for researchers.
The agreement between the two parties is expected to provide opportunities for lecturers, researchers, students, and all members of the academic community to participate in joint projects, seminars, workshops, and conferences. It also encourages knowledge exchange and dissemination of research results, facilitating a fruitful partnership between academia and the business sector.
Through this collaboration, Algeria aims to harness the potential of its universities and enterprises to drive innovation, economic growth, and societal advancement, positioning itself as a leader in the region’s knowledge-based economy.
