Strengthening Ties: Chief of Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army to Embark on an Official Visit to Russia

ALGIERS – In a move aimed at fortifying the relationship between the Algerian and Russian armed forces, Army General Said Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), is set to embark on an official visit to Russia on Monday, July 31. The visit comes in response to an invitation from the Minister of Defense of Russia, Army General Sergei Shoigu, and signifies a crucial step towards fostering greater collaboration and synergy between the two nations.

The eagerly anticipated visit was officially announced in a statement issued by the Ministry of National Defense (MND), which highlighted the significance of this diplomatic engagement. “At the invitation of the Minister of Defense of Russia, Army General Sergei Shoigu, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Army General Said Chanegriha, will begin a visit on Monday, July 31, in the Russian Federation. This visit is part of the strengthening of cooperation between the Algerian army and the Russian armed forces. Both parties will consider matters of mutual interest,” the MND statement affirmed.

As the military leaders of Algeria and Russia come together for this momentous occasion, it is evident that the focus lies on enhancing bilateral relations, exploring new avenues of cooperation, and reaffirming the commitment to regional and global security.
