ALGIERS- According to a special weather bulletin (BMS) released by the National Meteorological Office on Sunday, strong winds are forecasted to sweep through several wilayas on Monday. These winds are expected to reach or even exceed speeds of 90 km/h in gusts.

The BMS, which has placed these wilayas on “Orange” vigilance, includes Béni Abbés, Béchar, Naâma, El-Bayadh, Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saïda, Tiaret, and Laghouat. The wind will predominantly blow from the southwest, with a force ranging between 60 and 70 km/h. In some instances, gusts may reach or surpass 90 km/h. The bulletin will be in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

These powerful winds are expected to cause frequent sandstorms, significantly reducing visibility in the affected areas, as stated by the same source.
