On the ground, the parties in conflict in the country continued to tear each other apart on Monday, for the tenth consecutive day, ignoring the incessant calls for a ceasefire, while the humanitarian situation is further bogged down, which prompted several countries to evacuate their nationals and thousands of civilians to flee to neighboring countries.
The army of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane, ruler of Sudan since 2021, faces the paramilitaries of his deputy who has become a rival, General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo, who commands the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The violence, mainly in the capital and in Darfur, in the west, left more than 420 dead and 3,700 injured according to the World Health Organization (WHO). They have also displaced tens of thousands of people to other states in Sudan, or to Chad and Egypt.
