ALGIERS- The People’s National Army conducted a nocturnal tactical military exercise with live ammunition overnight from Sunday to Monday at the 5th Polygon of Shooting and Maneuvers of Amdoukal in the wilaya of Batna in the 5th Military Region.
Executed by units of the 7th Armored Brigade, supported by units of the Land, Air Forces and technical support, the exercise was supervised by the Chief of Staff of the ANP, Army General Said Chanegriha, on a working and inspection visit to the region, said a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
The images transmitted are impressive and testify to the mastery acquired by the units that took part in the exercise and their degree of preparation and readiness for combat. We see impressive sheaves of fire as they reach their target. The exercise includes a theoretical phase, having seen the participation of the staff of the regional commands and the units engaged, and a dynamic phase where the units to carry out the exercise are engaged.
A maneuver performed in conditions very close to reality, following a plan drawn up in accordance with predefined objectives. Objectives to, on the one hand, forge the skills of the staff to prepare night combat actions and, on the other hand, to strengthen their experience in the field of the conduct of planned actions, specified the press release.
The purpose is to achieve consistency and interoperability between the units and the elementary units that must take part in the different stages of the battle. A strategy that should also allow crews to acquire more skills in mastering modern weapons equipment and systems, while testing their operational readiness and ability to execute possible night combat missions.
