Syria, Turkey earthquake: Foreign Affairs Ministry closely monitors situation of Algerian community members

ALGIERS– The services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad closely monitor the situation of the members of the national community based in Turkey and Syria following the devastating earthquake which hit, on Monday morning, these two countries, causing countless victims and wreaking terrible infrastructural damage,  the ministry said in a statement.

 

“Following the devastating earthquake that struck regions in the south of the Turkish Republic and the north of the Syrian Arab Republic on Monday morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad announced that its services closely monitor  the situation of the members of the national community based in Turkey and Syria, through a crisis unit set up for this purpose and the total coordination with the Algerian embassies in Damascus and Ankara, and its Consulate General in Istanbul,” specified the communiqué.

In this vein, the ministry called on Algerians residing in Turkey and Syria to respect the security and vigilance instructions given by the local authorities in these two countries.

It also invited them to maintain permanent contact with the services of the Algerian embassies in Ankara and Damascus, and the services of the Consulate General of Algeria in Istanbul via the following numbers:
