I have missed Algeria since my last visit in 2008. It’s been a long time, and I can see the significant progress the country has made. I am delighted to wear the Algerian caftan, designed by Ilham “Dar Kahina”. It’s a great honor to participate in this festival alongside a group of Arab artists. I love the sense of Arab unity this festival brings, and I hope we can stand together not only in the arts but also on humanitarian issues, such as supporting Palestine and stopping the bloodshed. As Arabs, the caftan symbolizes royalty and femininity. It’s beautiful to wear with a crown because a woman truly looks like a queen when she wears it. I hope I am wearing it properly and that people appreciate it. I wanted to wear something that represents Algerian heritage.”
