President Tebboune Receives Omani Investment Authority President to Bolster Bilateral Economic Cooperation

Algiers, Algeria | February 11th, 2025 — In a significant step toward strengthening economic and investment ties between Algeria and Oman, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Abdulsalam bin Mohammad Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), along with a high-ranking Omani delegation, at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.

According to an official statement from the Algerian Presidency, the meeting underscored Algeria’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with Oman across key economic sectors. The discussions were attended by senior Algerian officials, including Boualem Boualem, Director of the Presidential Cabinet, Youcef Cherfa, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries, Abdelhak Saihi, Minister of Health, and Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI).

On the Omani side, the high-level delegation included Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al-Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth, and Water Resources, Dr. Hilal bin Ali Alsabti, Minister of Health, and Bin Nasser Al-Badai, the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to Algeria.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to explore new avenues of economic cooperation, particularly in investment, agriculture, fisheries, and healthcare. Algeria, with its strategic location and vast natural resources, presents lucrative opportunities for foreign investors, while Oman’s investment authority seeks to expand its global portfolio and enhance economic synergies with North African partners.

This high-level engagement comes as part of Algeria’s broader vision to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and foster economic diversification. The discussions are expected to pave the way for joint ventures and enhanced economic integration, solidifying Algeria’s position as a key investment hub in the region.
