ALGIERS- The International Textile, Apparel, Leather, and Equipment Exhibition, “TexStyle Expo,” opened its doors on Sunday in Algiers with the participation of nearly 170 national and international exhibitors.
Taking place from November 19 to 21 at the Exhibition Palace, Pins Maritimes in Algiers, this economic event features the presence of over a hundred foreign exhibitors, including participants from China, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, Indonesia, and India, as reported by APS.
Amar Takdjout, the Secretary-General of the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), inaugurated the event, stating that “TexStyle Expo” represents “an opportunity for national stakeholders in the industry to explore partnership opportunities with their foreign counterparts.”
As an invited guest to the exhibition, Mohamed-Moncef Bouderba, Vice President of the Algerian Confederation of Citizen Employers (CAPC), highlighted the quality of the exhibited products. He emphasized that the sector is thriving, particularly through the investments made by the government to revitalize the industry.
“These investments will undoubtedly contribute to consolidating technology transfer and partnership opening. They will also attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and direct production towards external markets,” he insisted.
Mohamed-Lamine Bekkouche, the Managing Director of the exhibition organizer (CGCOM-EVENT), explained that the event aims to facilitate exchanges and create partnerships to “develop cutting-edge industries and high-quality materials to meet customer requirements in the local and international markets.”
In addition to the strong international presence, “TexStyle Expo” showcases a remarkable participation of local companies from all corners of the country. Algerian companies, presenting their products, are featured through traditional garments, artisanal know-how passed down through generations, and modern processes and styles in the textile and leather industries.
