Algiers, Algeria | December 18th, 2024 — Algiers is set to host the much-anticipated 32nd Algerian Production Exhibition, which will officially open this Thursday, December 19, at the Palace of Expositions in Safex (Pins Maritimes). With the participation of more than 600 exhibitors from across Algeria, this landmark economic event, organized under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, underscores the nation’s commitment to bolstering domestic production as a cornerstone of economic sovereignty.
Organized by the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (Safex), in partnership with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Market Regulation, the event is themed “Our Production, the Pillar of Our Sovereignty.“ It will run until December 28, showcasing Algeria’s industrial and entrepreneurial prowess on a sprawling 28,000 square-meter venue, including the African Unity Square, the central pavilion, and dedicated exhibition halls.
A Showcase of Algeria’s Industrial Might
The exhibition will serve as a platform for some of Algeria’s leading public and private enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, startups, and artisans to display their products and services. It encompasses diverse sectors including:
- Agro-Industry: Reflecting Algeria’s growing agricultural and food-processing capabilities.
- Electronics and Home Appliances: Highlighting cutting-edge innovations by domestic manufacturers.
- Chemical and Petrochemical Industries: Underscoring advancements in energy and raw material processing.
- Mechanical, Metallurgical, and Steel Industries: Showcasing expertise in heavy industry and precision engineering.
- Textiles and Construction Materials: Demonstrating Algeria’s evolving capabilities in sustainable building practices and fashion production.
- Military Industries: An exclusive exhibit underscoring Algeria’s defense manufacturing achievements.
- Service Sector and Emerging Technologies: Featuring innovative startups driving digital transformation in the national economy.
Promoting Local Products: A Direct Link Between Producers and Consumers
An exciting feature of this year’s edition is a promotional sales area where visitors can purchase locally-produced goods directly from exhibitors. The timing of the exhibition coincides with the winter school holidays, providing an excellent opportunity for families to explore and support Algeria’s rich array of domestically-made products.
A Platform for Dialogue and Economic Collaboration
Starting Sunday, December 22, the event will also host a series of economic forums and networking sessions. These gatherings aim to foster dialogue among industry leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs, addressing key challenges and opportunities in the local production landscape. Topics will include strategies to enhance competitiveness, expand export capabilities, and strengthen Algeria’s self-sufficiency in various sectors.
Reaffirming Economic Sovereignty Through Innovation
Safex’s Media Representative Hafidha Makdad emphasized the exhibition’s significance, describing it as “an unparalleled opportunity to celebrate Algeria’s production potential and deepen the integration of domestic industries into the national and global markets.”
This year’s theme reflects the government’s broader economic vision of achieving sovereignty through robust and diversified local production. By bringing together an impressive roster of participants and promoting innovation across industries, the 32nd Algerian Production Exhibition is set to be a milestone in Algeria’s march towards a more self-reliant and globally competitive economy.
