ALGIERS- The 6th session of the Algerian-South Korean political consultations took place in Seoul on Monday. The purpose of this meeting was to address the current state of bilateral relations and discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest. It is worth noting that both countries are preparing to become non-permanent member countries of the United Nations Security Council.
Chaired by Naceur Boucherit, the Director General for “Asia-Oceania” at the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Kim Eun-Jeong, the Director General for African and Middle East Affairs at the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to engage in discussions regarding the situation in Palestine, the Sahel, Libya, the Korean Peninsula, and the Western Sahara question.
Furthermore, the session allowed for a comprehensive review of the current state of bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Algeria and South Korea. Both parties explored ways to strengthen their ties and identified areas for further collaboration.
Consequently, an agreement was reached to enhance exchanges and promote cooperation and consultation, particularly in light of their upcoming accession as non-permanent member countries of the United Nations Security Council.
