ALGIERS– “The Algerian Housing Development Agency (AADL2) program should be wrapped up before the end of the current year,” said the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, Mohamld Tarek Belaribi.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the 25th edition of the International Building, Building Materials, and Public Works Exhibition (Batimatec 2023), held from May 7 to 11, at the Palace of Expositions (Pins maritimes) in Algiers, the Minister affirmed that “the AADL 2 dossier will be definitively wrapped up this year.”
This is a commitment in view of the acceleration of the pace of work and the removal of administrative constraints for those who have dreamed of a roof over their heads for a decade.
Regarding the participatory social housing formula, the Minister revealed that “the initial promoters were divested of the projects at the level of certain wilayas due to the delays recorded”. These projects were assigned to public promoters. In addition, the minister mentioned the construction of 56,400 housing units across the country by Algerian companies.
In this vein, the Minister stressed the need to create a network of subcontractors at the national level with the aim of having a 100% Algerian product. “The Algerian product has had international recognition,” he stressed.
