ALGIERS- As per an announcement from the parliamentary institution on Monday, a delegation from the Council of the Nation is slated to partake in the forthcoming 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, scheduled to be held from May 1st to 3rd in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Under the guidance of the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Salah Goudjil, a delegation comprising Mr. Ali Talbi, Vice-Speaker of the Council of the Nation, and Mr. Akhmado Khafi, Senator, will represent the institution at the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, scheduled from May 1st to 3rd, 2024, in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

This forum is an integral part of the “Baku Process,” initiated in 2008 by the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, with the objective of promoting dialogue, understanding, and harmony among cultures.

It serves as a platform for governments, international organizations, experts, and academics to exchange best practices and the latest mechanisms for promoting intercultural dialogue, thereby contributing to international peace and security.

The forum’s agenda encompasses several themes, including “dialogue for a global cultural renaissance,” “AI: an opportunity or a threat to human culture?”, “the role of legislative power and best practices in safeguarding cultural heritage,” “the role of education and youth participation in combating discrimination and xenophobia,” and “building trust through interreligious dialogue.”
