The Chinese Ambassador to Algeria: The visit of President Tebboune to China, “a resounding success at all levels”

Algiers– The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Algeria, Li Jian, expressed his delight at the recent state visit of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to China, emphasizing that the visit has proven to be a resounding success on all fronts. Speaking at a press conference held at the Chinese embassy in Algiers, Ambassador Li Jian hailed the visit as a pivotal moment that will foster even stronger bonds of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and China.
The Chinese diplomat conveyed his enthusiasm regarding the future prospects of bilateral relations, stating that the visit has paved the way for numerous mega-projects, particularly in the realm of infrastructure development. This collaborative effort will undoubtedly yield tremendous benefits for both nations, enhancing their economic and strategic partnership.
Highlighting the significance of the talks between President Tebboune and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Ambassador Li Jian stressed that the two leaders addressed various regional and international issues of common concern. Notably, they underscored the imperative of seeking peaceful and political resolutions to challenges in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question, as well as the situations in Yemen, Syria, Mali, and Sudan.
Regarding the Sahrawi question, the Chinese ambassador reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for the United Nations’ efforts to find a peaceful and equitable solution. The joint communiqué released following President Tebboune’s visit to China reiterated China’s commitment to promoting peaceful dialogue and cooperation in the region.
Ambassador Li Jian further disclosed that with Algeria’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, the two countries’ foreign ministries will strengthen their cooperation to foster global peace and stability. This development marks a crucial step towards reinforcing Algeria’s role in shaping global affairs.
The press conference also witnessed China’s expressed support for Algeria’s membership in the prestigious “BRICS” group of nations.
