Algiers, Algeria | September 20th, 2024 — The global uproar surrounding the “Pager” crime has shed light on an intriguing and elusive figure, Cristiana Rosaria Bársony-Arcidiacono, an academic who finds herself at the center of the controversy. Arcidiacono, known primarily for her work in particle physics and academia, emerged as a key player when her ties with the Taiwanese company “Golden Power” were revealed. The scandal deepened after the Zionist cyberattacks in Lebanon, leading to her sudden disappearance and the closure of her offices, leaving many questions unanswered.
Arcidiacono, who is also the head of the Budapest-based company “BAC Consulting,” had entered into a long-term agreement allowing the firm to design, manufacture, and sell pagers (model AR924) under the brand “Gold Apollo” in specific markets. However, after the incident in Lebanon, she has since erased her online presence and shut down her company’s offices, further fueling speculation.
A Mysterious Rise to Prominence
Records indicate that BAC Consulting was founded in May 2022 by Arcidiacono, now 49 years old. According to the Financial Times, she appears to be the sole director of a company that reported revenue of around $800,000 in 2023. Her LinkedIn profile shows that she holds a PhD in particle physics from the University of London and has worked at British institutions, such as SOAS and the London School of Economics. Despite this, little is known about her involvement in the telecommunications industry.
Described by a conference attendee in Latvia as an “academic,” Arcidiacono’s expertise in particle physics seems at odds with her recent business ventures, particularly her association with the sale of pagers in Lebanon. Her home, listed in company records as a high-rise tower from the communist era in northern Budapest, remains as enigmatic as the woman herself. Neighbors and a local hairdresser, when interviewed by Financial Times, said they had not seen her in recent years, with one neighbor noting that her mother, who occasionally visits, had last been there “a long time ago.”
Sparse Activity and Questions of Disappearance
Arcidiacono’s office, a nondescript building on the outskirts of Budapest, appeared largely inactive on Wednesday, with only two men spotted in a black Mercedes sedan. Her image also appears on the website of “Eden Global Impact,” a company based in San Francisco’s Mission District. Eden Global Impact lists Arcidiacono as an expert in humanitarian and social programs, boasting expertise in the non-profit sector. The company specializes in selling solar power generators, water purification systems, and “off-grid satellite phones,” yet there remains no clear explanation as to why or how a particle physics expert with extensive experience in climate change and global economics would be involved in selling Taiwanese pagers to Lebanese buyers.
In one of her last public comments, made to NBC News, Arcidiacono was adamant: “I don’t manufacture pagers. I’m just an intermediary. I think you’ve made a mistake.” Yet, as her sudden disappearance suggests, there may be more layers to this story than meet the eye.
Arcidiacono’s abrupt retreat from the public eye only deepens the mystery surrounding her role in the “Pager” affair, leaving many to question the true nature of her involvement.
