Algiers, September 25, 2023 – After a three-year hiatus imposed by the global health crisis, the highly anticipated international tourism and travel fair, SITEV (Salon International du Tourisme et des Voyages), is set to make a triumphant return with its 22nd edition. This event is scheduled to take place from September 28 to October 1 at the prestigious Palais des Expositions des Pins Maritimes in Algiers.
The revival of SITEV, a long-standing fixture in the global tourism industry, has created a buzz of excitement among travel enthusiasts, professionals, and industry experts alike. The Commissioner of the Show and Director General of the National Tourism Office (ONT), Saliha Nacer Bey, shared some key details about this much-anticipated event.
SITEV 2023 promises to be a vibrant gathering of over 250 exhibitors, with an impressive representation of 30 international participants. These exhibitors will showcase a diverse range of products and services, making SITEV a melting pot for all facets of the tourism and travel sector.
The organizers of SITEV have emphasized that the event aims to provide a comprehensive platform for industry stakeholders, including establishments under supervision, travel agencies, tourist operators, and both public and private sector hoteliers. In addition to these, artisans and players from the tertiary sector, such as banks, insurance companies, and transport firms, will have their presence felt. Associations in the field, tourist offices, content creators, and startup leaders will also contribute to the event’s dynamic atmosphere.
Saliha Nacer Bey, the Director General of ONT, noted that SITEV holds immense potential in promoting Algeria as a tourist destination. This is particularly significant as it coincides with the launch of the Saharan tourism season, an essential part of Algeria’s tourism industry.
SITEV 2023 will see the active participation of numerous countries, each adding to the event’s international flavor. Notable participants include Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Greece, Turkey, and China. This global presence will not only facilitate the presentation of cutting-edge tourism products but also foster meaningful exchanges of experiences and best practices among professionals and industry stakeholders.
To enrich the experience for attendees, SITEV will feature a series of conferences and study days conducted by esteemed Algerian and international specialists in the field of tourism. These sessions will provide valuable insights, promote knowledge sharing, and encourage innovation in the ever-evolving world of travel and tourism.
As the travel industry gradually recovers from the disruptions caused by the global health crisis, SITEV’s return represents a beacon of hope and opportunity. With its diverse array of exhibitors, international participants, and knowledge-sharing sessions, SITEV 2023 is poised to usher in a new era of growth and prosperity for the global tourism and travel sector.
